Given some of the snap problems, Brewer has occasionally been a visual liability for the Dolphins this season, but has he actually played poorly?

As the season approaches Week 9, Brewer’s PFF offensive grade is ranked seventh among NFL qualifying centers. The Dolphins could have selected Creed Humphrey of the Kansas City Chiefs over Liam Eichenberg, who currently holds the highest PFF offensive grade amongthe league’s centers.
This year, Brewer’s statistics are at their peak. His PFF offensive grades since 2020 have been 76.2, 57.9, 59.9, and 71.6 in 2023. Butch Barry, the offensive line coach at Miami, has improved his play quite a bit.
The right and left guards are the only positions that actually bring down the Dolphins’ offensive line, which is a constant source of concern. Terron Armstead and Austin Jackson help Miami on the edges, but the middle of the line is problematic, and Brewer is included in the mix due to subpar guard play.

It’s becoming increasingly that apparent his trade-up for Eichenberg was a flop. He moved Connor Williams, a reliable guard with the Dallas Cowboys, to center after signing him.
