ITV The Chase viewers sparks complaints as fans spot huge issue

ITV’s beloved quiz show, The Chase, stirred frustration among its fans during the latest episode aired on January 15, 2025. Hosted by the ever-charismatic Bradley Walsh, the show introduced four new contestants vying for a substantial cash prize. However, what unfolded left many viewers disheartened, sparking widespread discussions online.

From the start, the cash builder round posed a formidable challenge for contestants Amy and Thomas. Their performance was lackluster, with each managing to answer only two questions correctly, prompting visible disappointment from the host and fans alike. Bradley’s typically fast-paced questioning added to the tension, leaving the participants visibly flustered. Displeased viewers quickly took to social media, with one imploring, “Oh please, just make it stop.” Others lamented the decline in the show’s entertainment value, describing it as a shadow of its former self.

The frustrations didn’t stop there. Contestants’ strategic choices in subsequent rounds also drew criticism. Amy opted for a low offer of £200, and despite Emma’s valiant effort of securing £6,000 for the final round, teammate Mark’s decision to accept a meager £800 infuriated fans. One viewer vented on social media, exclaiming, “You scored £6,000 in the cash builder and went for £800? Unbelievable!” This sentiment echoed across various platforms, with many lamenting the increasing trend of low-risk choices overshadowing the thrill of competitive gameplay.

Chaser Anne Hegerty, also known as “The Governess,” demonstrated her usual sharp wit, eliminating Thomas and adding to the team’s misfortunes. Viewers were quick to express disappointment over what they perceived as a lack of ambition among the contestants. Many fans sympathized with Emma, who they saw as the standout performer of the episode, commenting, “Emma carried that team. It’s unfortunate she was paired with such cautious players.”

While the episode showcased moments of skill and determination, the overall mood among the audience was one of dissatisfaction. Loyal fans voiced concerns that the show’s appeal is waning due to contestants’ conservative tactics and what some described as unnecessarily challenging questions. The Chase continues to air weekdays at 5 p.m. on ITV1, but it seems the show faces increasing pressure to reignite the excitement that once made it a household favorite.
