Former Bachelor star Rachael Kirkconnell has shared new details about her unexpected breakup with Matt James after four years together. During a recent episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, she revealed that James ended their relationship while they were on a trip to Tokyo earlier this month.
“It was definitely out of nowhere,” Kirkconnell admitted, explaining that James cited concerns about their long-term compatibility. According to her, he expressed doubts about certain qualities of hers that made him question their future as husband and wife.
She went on to say that one of the key reasons for their split was his belief that she struggled with taking accountability for her actions. “There are things that we aren’t compatible with,” she explained, adding that this concern ultimately led him to end their relationship.
Though the breakup came as a shock to her, Kirkconnell’s comments suggest that underlying differences had been building between them for some time. Neither James nor his representatives have publicly commented on her remarks.
The couple first met on Season 25 of The Bachelor and, despite ups and downs, maintained their relationship for four years before parting ways.
