employees have been placed on administrative leave following President Trump’s executive order to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs within the federal government.

 

Additionally, The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump administration officials are considering executive actions to dismantle the Department of Education. This plan aligns with efforts to reduce the size of federal agencies and the government workforce.

The proposed actions include shutting down non-statutory functions and proposing legislative measures to abolish the department.

The timing of these actions is still under discussion, with some officials suggesting a delay until after the Senate confirmation of Education Secretary nominee Linda McMahon.
