Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Director David Rausch has appointed an experienced communications professional to serve in a key role in the Bureau’s Public Affairs Unit.

Carley Gordon joined TBI as Deputy Communications Director on January 27th following a lengthy career as a television anchor and reporter, most recently spending more than 15 years at the NBC affiliate in Nashville.

“I’ve always respected the TBI’s mission and I’m ecstatic to now be joining such an incredible team,” said Gordon. “I look forward to sharing the agency’s story and working with my colleagues, stakeholders, and the public to make Tennessee a better and safer place to live.”

At TBI, Gordon will be based at Headquarters in Nashville and will help oversee media relations and public affairs for the Bureau’s Middle and East regions. She will also handle a variety of tasks including internal communications, social media, video production, and a variety of special projects.

“Carley is a great fit for our Bureau family,” said TBI Director David Rausch. “We can’t wait to see how her willingness to learn, creativity, and positive outlook shape our already stellar public affairs team for years to come.”

Gordon will work alongside Josh DeVine and Susan Niland at Headquarters, overlapping in Niland’s position until her retirement later this year. Leslie Earhart and Kim Wheeler handle public affairs and communications responsibilities on behalf of the Bureau for its Upper East and West regions, respectively.

( On a personal note, my very first murder case, on scene, I met Carley.

Susan will never greatly missed but I look forward to working with my friend Carley.

It’s fair to say that Carley & Stephanie Langston lead me to where I am today.

The TBI could not have hired a better person)
