22nd Judicial District Attorney Brent Cooper tells me “When I ran for DA, I promised to solve and prosecute as many cold case homicides as possible. Thanks to talented Assistant DA’s like Pam Anderson and Ross Boudreaux and my skilled investigators Tommy Goetz and Jeff Dunn, I have been able to keep that promise. Unsung heroes like Victim Witness Coordinator Christi Dickey are also essential to guide the victims’ family through the process. Our prayers are with the family of Pamela McCall and her unborn child.”
Yesterday was a huge day for Spring Hill, TN. Thirty-four years after the body of a young lady named Pamela McCall was found on the side of Saturn Pkwy., and five years after his arrest, the killer was convicted of 1st degree murder.
When her body was found, (I was in Kindergarten) Ron Coleman of Spring Hill PD worked tirelessly for years to discover the perpetrator, but 90’s investigative technology permitted little progress. It wasn’t until 2019 that DNA from a Clark Baldwin was matched to samples found in two other dead women in Wyoming, who were also murdered in the early 90’s. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/05/06/clark-perry-baldwin-former-trucker-charged-cold-case-murders/5180149002/
For the past week, I had the honor and privilege of serving as co-counsel with Pamela Anderson in the long-awaited trial of Clark Baldwin for the murder of Pamela McCall in 1991. After over four hours of deliberation, a Maury County jury convicted Baldwin of first degree murder. To add poetry to the justice that we witnessed first hand, Ron Coleman then got to finally put handcuffs on the man he has pursued for 34 years…with cuffs from Spring Hill Police Department 🥹🥲. (Pictured below)
Baldwin was sentenced immediately after the verdict to life in prison, and he will soon be transported to Wyoming to be tried for the bodies found there in the early 90’s.
The Office of Brent Cooper, including Tommy Goetz and Christie Williams Dickey, deserve so much credit for this incredible result. The FBI and the Wyoming DCI were also instrumental in helping us connect the necessary dots and in preparing this case for a jury. Most notably, Pam’s rebuttal close was absolutely legendary and could not be sufficiently replicated in the best of crime-drama films.
It’s such a blessing to be able to get up every day and go to work for this office, especially to have people like Pam and her husband Kyle Anderson as mentors.
Also, a big thank you to Debbie Zimmerle Boudreaux for handling the home front all week while being almost 9 months pregnant. She’s Superwoman ❤️
God is good!
