Throughout the season, Cowboys supporters can enjoy “Fritos Sundae” at home games

During the Dallas Cowboys’ home game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, fans can sample a new sweet-and-salty combo called a Fritos Sundae.

This surprisingly delicious treat combines two beloved Texas treats: Blue Bell ice cream and Fritos, which were created in San Antonio.

Sprinkles and a maraschino cherry complete the presentation of the two, which is then covered in sugar and cinnamon, and covered with caramel and chocolate syrups.

According to George Wasai, vice president of food and beverage at Legends Hospitality, “every year we are always trying to find unique items, and try to have fun with our food,” during a Zoom interview with Fox News Digital. (Watch the video up above for more information.)

The concessions for several teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, are managed by Legends Hospitality.

A conversation about what snack foods could be combined to create a new concession item led to the creation of the Fritos Sundae.

“At first, everyone thought I was crazy, including my team,” Wasai stated. “They thought I was crazy wanting to do something like that — until we put it together to try it.”

According to him, perceptions started to shift when the first Fritos Sundae was put together.

Wasai remarked, “We realized how great of a dessert.”

Concessions chef Heather Fuller of AT&T Stadium, home of the Cowboys, concurred.

“Everyone really likes it. In the joint Zoom talk, she said, “I really haven’t heard anyone say anything bad about it.”

And she said she knows “a lot of people are kind of leery” about trying a dessert with corn chips and ice cream, but she claimed it was worth it.

“They work together very well, and it’s very good,” she noted.

But there are also the Cowboys Cheesesteak and Lineman Burrito for people who want to stick to the tried-and-true favorites.

Wasai told Fox News Digital that the Cowboys Cheesesteak has been the best-selling burger at AT&T Stadium for more than 25 years.

“We wanted to create our own Philly cheesesteak style,” Wasai said – one that features the ingredients found in Texas.

The Cowboys Cheesesteak, Fuller said, uses shaved sirloin “seasoned with our own special seasoning.”

The steak is topped with “all-natural jalapeño jack cheese,” along with onions and jalapeños.

The Cowboys Cheesesteak is so good, Wasai said, that even visiting Philadelphia Eagles fans have admitted to liking it.

“They just rave about it,” he said.

“We will go in and tell [Eagles fans] that we use real cheese,” said Fuller with a laugh.

The Lineman Burrito made its debut last season and has since become a customer favorite, Fuller said.

A combination of Tex-Mex and barbecue – two of Texas’ most famous foods – the Lineman Burrito is not for the faint of heart.

“It’s a 17-inch tortilla [with] our famous Cowboys Mac and Cheese, our house smoked brisket, jalapeño pepper jack sausage, pico de gallo, some housemade, candied jalapeños and then barbecue sauce,” Fuller said.

The thing is then wrapped and grilled.

The idea for the burrito came along after a seller “brought the tortilla out to us” and suggested that it be used to make some sort of jumbo-sized burrito.

“And then I got to thinking,” Fuller said. “We like to be outside the box and be very innovative.”

That innovation led to the idea of a “barbecue burrito,” which developed into the Lineman taco.

The Texas-sized taco is meant to be shared, she said.

“I wouldn’t suggest anyone eat it by themselves,” Fuller said.

“But we’ve seen people try.”
