Five charged over Liam Payne’s death including friend Roger Nores and hotel staff

In a heartbreaking turn of events, five individuals have been charged in connection with the untimely death of Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, who tragically passed away at the age of 31. Payne fell from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires on October 16, leaving fans and loved ones devastated. Among those charged are Roger Nores, a close friend of the singer, and several staff members of the CasaSur Palermo hotel, where the incident occurred.

According to reports from Argentinian news outlet Infobae, two of the accused have already been detained. Nores, who reportedly left the hotel an hour before Payne’s fatal fall, faces charges of negligent homicide and has been barred from leaving Argentina. The charges also extend to Braian Nahuel Paiz, a 24-year-old waiter, and 21-year-old Ezequiel David Pereyra, who are accused of selling drugs to Payne. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison.

Witness accounts and emergency calls paint a troubling picture of Payne’s final hours. Hotel staff made two urgent calls to emergency services, reporting erratic behavior from a guest who had allegedly consumed excessive drugs and alcohol. The calls expressed concerns about the guest’s safety due to the presence of a balcony in the room. Despite these warnings, Payne’s tragic fall could not be prevented. An autopsy later confirmed that he succumbed to multiple injuries and significant internal and external bleeding.

Roger Nores has denied abandoning Payne on the day of the incident, stating he had visited the hotel three times and left just 40 minutes before the fall. He described Payne as being in good spirits and surrounded by people in the hotel lobby during their last interaction. This narrative was further explored in a recent documentary that delved into Payne’s final moments, shedding light on the complexities surrounding the case.

Payne’s death has left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and fans worldwide. His partner, Kate Cassidy, shared a heartfelt message during the holiday season, urging compassion and understanding for those grieving during festive times. Payne’s private funeral, held in Buckinghamshire, brought together his loved ones, including former One Direction members, as they bid farewell to the beloved singer. The investigation into his death continues, with the world watching closely for justice to be served.
