Stefanos Tsitsipas reveals that when he first encountered Paula Badosa at the 2020 Australian Open, he was “mesmerized” by her and made the prediction that they would eventually become a couple.
Fans immediately began to wonder if the Spaniard and the Greek were a new tennis power couple when they were seen in the stands at one of the Greek’s 2023 French Open matches without any apparent explanation and with no prior relationship history. And soon after the two traveled to Dubai and created a “Tsitsidosa” Instagram account to formally proclaim their relationship, the solution to that query was revealed
Tsitsipas and Badosa shared a lot of information about their relationship on social media in the early days of their relationship. Although they have recently grown more private about their whereabouts, they continue to speak favorably of one another in every interview
The 26-year-old has now shared a fresh detail about their romance
It’s strange because I never really got to know Paula during tournaments. We may have only met two or three times before I finally had the opportunity to approach her, greet her, and introduce myself. I think I first spotted Paula when she was playing on Center Court at the 2020 Australian Open. I was enthralled from the moment I saw it, and it was love at first sight. Tsitsipas recalled telling Hola, “I remember thinking to myself that one day we would be together”
The 26-year-old Spaniard said that she and the Greek had made the decision to part ways in a post on her Instagram Story on May 5. She also stated that they would continue to be friends and on good terms in what appeared to be a very courteous statement
Given how highly they were praising one another and the lack of any signs that a breakup might be imminent, the news was unexpected.
Tsitsipas and Badosa were then spotted on Monte Carlo’s streets two weeks later. And that was a clear sign that the two got back together. The Greek was questioned about it as soon as he got to Paris because the French Open was just a few days away
The Greek at the time provided a long response to that query, affirming that they were once more a couple and asserting that no one had done anything wrong and that they had quickly come to understand their need for one another
“We’re all together. I will explain why there are those who fabricate stories about us. I don’t care, but I don’t think that’s how it should be interpreted. Neither Paula nor I did anything improper. At the time, Tsitsipas clarified,
“I was going through tough times, and it was difficult for us to be away. I would say that I also didn’t handle it properly because I was under pressure from my job and the tour. Tennis and romantic life looked like a mountain to climb together, so I decided to take a vacation. After two or three weeks, I came to the realization that she has been a huge support system for me, and I was struck by how deeply we love one other when she made an effort to speak with me once more
The former world No. 2 simply said that her partner had previously explained everything when questioned about her reunion with Tsitsipas at Roland Garros
Then, in an interview with a Spanish newspaper in July, Badosa talked candidly about her relationship with the Greek and said that one of her life’s ambitions has always been to become a mother
“I have thought about it since I was a young child, and it has always been very important to me. Despite the fact that I still have a long way to go, I have always expressed my desire to become a mother. This is especially true of my sister, who is eleven years older than I am and with whom I have always felt a strong maternal bond. The 26-year-old Spaniard told La Vanguardia, “It is something that I want in the future and that will make me very excited when it comes.”
