Frustraing Update, but not the end….
Several of you have tagged or reached out to me about the death of Rainey Jo McCord. Family, friends, and concerned citizens.
Today I learned , that the DA does not believe charges can be brought in this case.
Under current state law and the known circumstances. That is probably true. In Tennessee, we do not have a law that requires a private citizen to render aid or basically do anything to assist some one in medical trouble. Our moral compass should require that but that isn’t the law.
I’m told that Raineys cause of death was natural. I’m told a known heart issue. That in itself causes problems for a prosecutor. It gives any defense attorney a leg up.
Apparently she was legally alive when EMS arrived. That makes it impossible to charge under current law for not reporting or abuse of a corpse.
The family believes more happened that night. I plan to do two things. I am going to use the public records act to get them the police reports, 911 calls , autopsy and any thing that cam assist them.
I also think that our Tennessee legislators should look at this case and carve out a law that says you just can’t dump someone off to hide your illicit activity. I also believe there should be a law that protects someone that is trying to do the right thing even when something bad has happened. As long as you didn’t cause that bad thing.
Tomorrow I plan to reach out to friends in the Legislature to see what can be done.

Rainey Jo Mccord took her final breath on October 14th, 2024 leaving her Mother with doubts, suspicions, and questions regarding her death.
Rainey was at a home in Chester County when she went unconscious inside the bathroom. According to her mother, nobody called for help, and nobody rendered aid or assistance. What happened instead would boil the blood of any parent.
The alleged “friends” moved Rainey’s body out of the house dragging her through mud and leaves and loaded her in her own car. Then instead of meeting an ambulance or rushing her to a hospital an unnamed male is said to have driven her lifeless body to a gas station in Pinson, TN.
It is alleged that a phone had to be pinged to find her.
Once at the hospital, it was too late. Rainey’s family could do nothing but look at her lifeless body and cry.
Pictures show Rainey’s beautiful curly hair matted with leaves and mud on her face.
Her mom is left wondering what really happened to her beautiful child and stuck with the haunting thought that if someone in that house had just cared enough to help Rainey could be alive today.
If you know anything regarding the circumstances or events surrounding the death of Rainey Jo Mccord I beg you to speak up and give her parents some peace.
The autopsy is not complete but the family has been told the COD and it was not an overdose.
The neglect and abuse to an unconscious person would not be acceptable regardless.
Never Forgotten ❤
