Pierre Gasly set to compete against Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray as team owner

In a star-studded Hexagon Cup event, Alpine F1 driver Pierre Gasly has revealed that he will compete against fellow team owners including Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray.

Pierre Gasly, an F1 driver for Alpine, recently joined Padel as the owner of the eighth team participating in the Hexagon Cup, it was revealed during the lead-up to last weekend’s Mexico City Grand Prix.

Played on an enclosed court around one-third the size of a tennis court, padel is a racket sport that combines elements of squash and tennis.

Actress Eva Longoria, former Manchester City player Sergio Aguero, football sensation Lionel Messi, and Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski are all team owners in the recently established competition.

Gasly has teamed up with fellow Frenchman and financier Loic Fery, who is the president of the football team Lorient, to form 10Padel, which will be the eighth and last team in the Hexagon Cup the following year.

“Yeah, very exciting news,” Gasly commented when asked about his latest experience. This morning, I became the owner of a padel team and joined the eighth team in the Hexagon Cup.

It’s a brand-new competition that began in Madrid last year. There are well-known players like Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, Leo Messi, and many more. Each of them has their own squad. And having my own squad play against these players will be exciting. Thus, it will be the end of January in the next year. Therefore, anyone who is free that weekend is welcome to attend and take in the festivities.

The French driver denied any plans to enter the competition when asked if he plans to play himself.

“I refuse to act like myself. It’s a fun format with professional players alongside amateurs and young people, and these guys are professionals. There are eight participants in all, and the tournament is enjoyable. However, I’ll make an effort to be there for my team,” Gasly said.
